Bronson/Coxe Saltwater Reel Parts?

Post by Paul Roberts »

Anyone collecting Coxe saltwater reel parts? Or have a 325/325L in the bone pile?

I'm looking for an AR pawl spring. In the meantime, I'll try to make one.

Thanks.

Ok… I was able to make one from the existing spring. A bit shorter than the original, but it’s working. The reel has some other issues too, so I may be starting my own saltwater bone pile.

Paul, not sure what the coxe number is on this early parts reel ( 4 1/2” dia), but you are welcome to it for the $16 shipping. Send me a PM or email with your address, if so.

Hi, John. Thanks. That one looks like a 940, much larger than my 325. Luckily, there are a fair number of 325's out there. If I decide to settle on a 325, I'll likely buy another complete. For now, I'm considering this one a "learning curve" or "tuition" reel (Dennis at 2nd Chance Tackle). I have a few Bronson/Coxe SW reels lined up to... see what I've got. This 325 was the most worn and therefore a good one to break open and get familiar with.
