NEW BOOK Collecting Fishing Tackle Letterhead (Reels Too!)

Post by Teal »

Man, I can't tell you how long this book has been in coming! So happy to have it out finally, with further volumes coming soon! Written by three ORCAns over the past decade....

In this first volume in the series Collecting Fishing Tackle Ephemera, the authors (drawing upon over nine combined decades of research on fishing tackle and history) have written a primer on collecting and evaluating angling letterheads, billheads, and receipts. In addition to showing over 100 of the rarest and most beautiful examples, this book has a concise history, a detailed section on collecting, and tips on establishing value. Also includes an appendix with a list of over 1000 known companies that utilized angling letterheads. Even if you don't collect, this is a trip down memory lane that offers a glimpse of angling history that you simply can't find anywhere else.

Many incredibly rare letterhead are pictured in this book, from Chapman to vom Hofe to Meek to examples from every major tackle manufacturer like Heddon, Pflueger, Shakespeare, Jamison, etc. Includes histories of all the letterheads pictured and an appendix listing 1000+ known tackle letterheads! Approximate values provided for all pictured letterheads.

TONS of info about tackle companies from the 1860s to 1970 and lots of stuff on collecting it.
