I have a Penn 4400SS Graphite spinning reel my wife gave me twenty some years ago. Not long after I started using it the labels came off both sides. I found replacement labels, but am not sure how to attach them. You can see that the backing on one of the labels is peeling off. Is that white backing the 2 sided tape Penn used to attach the label originally? Does anybody have experience replacing these types of labels? I'd like to put it all back together and then display in on my shelf, but would like it look as nice as possible. I think it's seen the last its last day of fishing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
They should be sticky under the white paper when it's peeled off. Some guys use auto sticker/windshield glue. I use waterproof contact cement to reinstall loose stickers/labels.

Thanks Tom!
Maybe I should have mentioned that the replacement stickers were removed from another reel, so the "sticky" is no longer there. One of the labels is intact (white paper not peeling off), so I think I can just glue that to the reel with the contact cement you mentioned.
A concern I have is that the plastic material (under the white paper that has started to peel) may be effected by a chemical in the glue. It was real hard to find these labels so I hate to damage what I have.
PVA (polyvinyl acetate) is archival and reversible.
When the water in it evaporates it re-polymerizes and is very strong, but won’t react with the label or reel.

PVA's purpose is to bond such porous materials as wood, paper, and cloth. It is basically useless on hard, slick and non-porus surfaces.
