I recently came across this unmarked reel.
Diameter is 2-1/4” with a 15/16” wide spool and an on/off clicker.
The interesting features are the two sliding line guides. Anyone know who made this reel and when?
Thanks for the info. I can see that's gotta be it, now that I know what to look for. If it was made by Shakespeare
(circa 1900-1920?) is it unusual that it would be unmarked? Could it have been made by them to be marketed by
someone else? Or could it be a clone by another manufacturer?
My guess would be that it was produced for another company or a retailer to be sold under their brand name, but others on this board know a lot more than me about trade reels.
Wanted: Horton, Bristol & Meek reels, reel boxes, and catalogs!!!!
Which show? Andover, Portland, Effigingham, Temple, or Weirton? Inquiring minds want to know. We have a lot of spring shows it seems. ORCA is co-sponsoring the Weiton show. I will be there and hope to see you all.
