A. Lang multiplier fly reel

Post by Ray Hencken »

Does anyone have any knowledge of a multiplying fly reel patented Aug. 21, 1883 by Anton Lang, Brooklyn, N.Y. ? Patent drawing from the U.S. Commission of Fish and Fisheries 1885 is attached.

Lang and his reel are covered in my book, pp.113-114. Interesting clutch.
