As I’m sure many of you also did, I received an email link today for “Lang’s Auction” being run on LiveAuctioneers.com. I’m not a big fan of that website. The buyer’s premium is now 23% and the online catalog is nowhere near the quality we’ve become accustomed to. Nonetheless, I placed 10 bids.
The good news is that some nice reels are being offered and I got to bid without being asked for my credit card. Some of the descriptions are, let’s say, remedial. One BC Milam & Son was reel was titled “ Frankfort Kentucky No. 2 Casting Reel,” with the name Milam nowhere to be found in the description title.
Oh, well. I’m just happy Langs is still auctioning tackle in some form.

Let's all chip in and buy Blanchard's a better camera. I agree Mike about the quality. Poor photography doesn't help the buyer adequately review the items. Still, I guess it's better than nothing.

Interesting auction. Some really strong prices, at least on the stuff I like. They appeared to have a glitch on Lot 14 (Talbot No. 53) - my bids would not go through. I'm guessing no other live Internet bids went through, either, and the reel sold for way less than I would have expected.
Wanted: Horton, Bristol & Meek reels, reel boxes, and catalogs!!!!
