I’ve always liked antique shortwave and AM radios. I’m a member of the Pittsburgh Antique Radio Society https://pittsburghantiqueradiosociety.org/ and bought this Emerson tombstone table top ($100) and another small Detrola ($40) at a recent show. A member of the club repaired them both for me, tubes and all. They make any room better.
I picked up the two brass Indian chief bookends shown at the NFLCC Gettysburg room trading show last year ($25). They are incredibly heavy for their size. The “rope makers” knife on the far right is pretty old. I gave $100 for it at a Pennsylvania gun show. The large spike is used to twist the rope together.

The radios are very interesting! Just started to venture into them…purchased a major collection with 4 Danish made tabletops! My Grandfather had a wood frame Philco…wish I knew where it was
Wanted Ultra rare salt water reels including big game as well as unknown rare surf reels!
Interesting. My brother happens to collect old radios. Has for years. He, and I in tow, would cruise the neighborhood on trash day on our bicycles, searching for discarded radios and TV'' and stereo equipment. He would upgrade his stereo over time. We'd also strip the carcasses of vacuum tubes until he had a large collection of tubes. He then opened a repair shop in the basement. He was 12 yrs old.
He's described online forums for radio collectors that sound very much like ORCA. Old Radio Collectors Associaiton perhaps?
Pretty cool stuff. One man's treasure... If you know what you're looking at.
