Forest & Stream tin w/ original tobacco

Post by Mike N »

Check this out. The original inside paper lid label in tact & the old tobacco make this tin a solid buy at $150 plus $10 shipping lower 48.

PayPal preferred but checks ok from ORCA members.

Wow! How beautiful the packaging was before, not like now.

I don't smoke cigarettes (quit 2 years ago), just vapes Crave Max 2500 from time to time. But I would like to have an old tabacco like this))))

Coincidentally, a friend of mine who collects vintage advertising found this one at a local flea market & left it in my mailbox as a gift to me this week since he knew I collect pipes. I had just sent a photo to Dean Smith when I saw the reply to my original 2022 post. Dean estimates it is circa 1900. The fly fisherman scene is my favorite, but there is also a rarer Field & Stream tobacco tin with a fisherman in a canoe.

Pretty neat find Mike. I'm curious the tin says Forest and Stream not Field and Stream. Are they related to one another?

Ooops. I believe Forest & Stream magazine merged and became Field & Stream in 1934. The magazine eventually went out of print and was purchased by country musicians Morgan Wallen and Eric Church in 2024 who announced that the magazine will return to printed form.

I should’ve titled the thread Forest & Stream since this was obviously pre-1934, as seen on the tin.
