Fin-Nor 12/0s from the 1950s

Post by 54bullseye »

Just something to look at a couple of my favorite reels. Whether your a fan of Fin-Nor reels or not you got to give old Fred Grieten credit as he came up with some beautiful reels. These two with the "F" serial numbers came from the early 1950s before the company was sold and the more mass producing started. He really mixed up the anodizing colors as well as spool materials. Pretty much every reel in that era and earlier were one of a kind reels.
Enjoy !! John Taylor

Nice, John! Did you do ground-up restores on those or were they found in that condition? I suppose they vary in the drag setup inside?

Never took either one apart they both worked mint when I got them. I just gave each a good cleaning outside. One came from Joe's board 4 or 5 years ago the other one the darker gold reel I won at an auction in Marblehead Mass. for $150.00. It was a good day ! John Taylor
