George Hancock reel?

Post by Richard Lodge »

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I suspect Mr. Vernon or someone has written about this company at some point but this is the first I've come across it. Thanks for any info you have (and a photo of the reel, if you have one).

... and second? Did you write an article? I work best when given clues or allowed to follow a trail of bread crumbs.

Yes, thanks, Steve. Does anyone have any idea whether one of these reels actually exists? I assume because the demand was .... (cough, cough... ummm... ) less than he might have hoped, there were few produced and sold. Just curious to see a photo of the real reel thing.

I think George borrowed the idea for the reel from his Grandfather, John Hancock. It looks to be the same reel to me
