Help ID Tackle Logo: The D Co?

Anyone help on this? Reasonably certain it's the D. Company, but what would that D be?

Could be the TD Co. The fact the full word THE is in the logo on the top of the cap T makes me think the T stands for a word other than THE. My 2 cents.

Then it would be “ The IDT Co.”
