New Member-GloucesterGeorge
Wanted to post and say hello to everyone (thanks Brian F for getting me over my technical issues so that I could finally log on). As the name suggests, mainly fish MA North Shore. Teach for a living. Gearhead, like old stuff better than new (mostly). First got interested in collecting in school when my then-girlfriend bought me a NIB Bronson baitcaster for a Christmas gift. Not a rare reel, but boy was it cool paired with an old steel rod. That was some two decades ago. Today mainly interested in classic fly reels and conventionals. Still kind of a neophyte who is here looking to learn. Now that my kids are getting bigger I finally have a little free time to devote to my hobbies.

Welcome! There are a lot of people around here that can give you good advice.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)

Re: New Member-GloucesterGeorge
Hi George - Welcome to ORCA. I'm up in Newburyport and my wife and I visit Gloucester now and then for a different view of the waterfront (same ocean, different scenery, people and restaurants). I'm also the editor of The Reel News, our bimonthly (January, March, May, July, September and November) club magazine. I welcome questions and I'm always open to story submissions, photos of interesting reels and the occasional heads-up if you see an interesting online auction of a reel you think I might want to add to the auction report in the magazine. Welcome aboard!
Richard

Hey Klonder - how do you Jerseyites pronounce Gloucester? Many visitors to Massachusetts seem to think Gloucester and Worcester are pronounced like we're still across the pond (GLOW-ses-ter and WORS-es-ter).
Re: New Member-GloucesterGeorge
That would be Gloss..ter.

Hi from Cape Cod.
Long time member and fly fish both waters (fresh & salt) here in Falmouth.
Lost a nice fish a few weeks ago when the fish that hit, broke my line.
The old Cranberry Bogs that have fallen are being restored back to
their original condition. No trout yet, but that will come.
Enjoy the forum,
