A 3 1/4" 200yd casting reel with a cool rope design and a 2 1/2" 80yd Trout reel with the sliding oil cover.

I always liked that rope design on that Hendryx model and often wondered how that made it. I assume on the inside of the front cover you can see the depression from the punch into the die.

Cheers Steve!
Thanks for this!

Has there ever been catalouge references located for this reel? It isn't the 1904 copy I have.

On pg. 30 of that catalog is a Populo reel clutch description. At page bottom is a list of patents used for H reels, and the May 17, 1892, patent is listed. I used to have a Populo with the rope design (pic below). I don't see the rope pictured in that or the 1907 catalog, either. Hendryx was a thrifty soul; maybe he didn't bother having new drawings done for metal-capped reels that were no different from what was already there, except for the rope-designed headcaps.
