Fishing the Snake River

Post by Roger Schulz »

Returned this past weekend from fishing the Snake River for smallmouth bass with my good friend Phil White. I believe this was the 12th year of traveling to Idaho to fish with Phil. Like other years, we caught some nice sized Smallmouth in the 15–18-inch range. Phil turned 90 this year and is still active in fishing, cutting wood, and chasing after his new chocolate lab. We had a good time, sharing stories and eating well. Marilyn always feeds us well with fresh sweetcorn. As always, a few reels were purchased. We worked over Phil's lure collection and came up with a plan for selling them via Henry Caldwell.

A good week.

Good to hear that Phil and Marilyn - and you, of course - are in good health and still very active. Maybe you should send Phil a leash, though. His new Willy Wonka pet is probably too fast for him.

Good to hear you all are doing well, still fishing and having fun talking about reels! Miss those Snake River and jungle bass fishing photos.

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?
