Winchester 4160 & 4161

Post by Steve »

Can anyone provide photos of the inside of either model, for an article in Reel News? These are the GS models considered the best of the Winchester line. Both have weights extending below the crank knobs. It would be helpful to see the headplate inside and the inside of the removable headcap. A shot of the click spring would be helpful, too, but not necessary.

Hi Steve I own two of these marked Thos. E. Wilson and 4161 on the foot with the patent date ... will get on it ASAP.

Todd

PS By the way what's the difference between the 4160 and 4161?

For those who haven't seen these since they're pretty scarce, here's a photo. My favorite baitcasters from the golden age of baitcasting 1910-1930.

Many thanks, Todd. And thanks also to another collector who sent some pics in response to my FB page. Thanks to you folks, I've learned what I needed to know about the construction of these reels.
