Victor Koury
I just received word from Victor's daughter that he passed away yesterday. He was a member of ORCA and loved Ambassadeur reels. You can see his posts on Facebook. Victor lived in IL.

I did not know Victor, but if he was an ORCA member then he was a good guy. My condolences to his family.

So sad to hear that. Victor and his wife were so nice. I got to meet them at the San Diego ORCA National in 2021.

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?

Rest in peace Victor Koury. Gerri Isenberg was his significant other. They were fixtures at ORCA conventions since at least Missouri.

This is sad news. I remember chatting with Victor at a couple of ORCA conventions and buying one nice reel from him. He was a very nice man, quite knowledgeable and generous with his knowledge.

Re: Victor Koury
I had the pleasure of meeting Victor several times at ORCA and NFLCC conventions. His member profile is posted on Reeltalk. He was a great guy and helped me on multiple occasions. He had a weakness for Ambassadeur reels but was slowly adding collectible old reels by other makers. He made a brief video for the ORCA Facebook page about the Ambassador models built by Record and Abu explaining what collectors should look for. It’s on YouTube and has attracted 17,000 views over the 5 years since it was made. He will be missed.https://youtu.be/lTosQcj0Syw

So sad to hear this, Victor lived in Quincy Illinois and I am about 60 miles from their so chatted with him at many area estate auctions and such around the area. Great guy, will be deeply missed. My condolences to his family.

Re: Victor Koury
Victor was a class act who always also seemed to be able to make me laugh. When I met him, I thought of him as an "Ambassadeur guy," but quickly learned that his knowledge was incredibly diverse. His knowledge and dry sense of humor will be missed at shows.
