Re: Anyone have Outdoors in Illinois magazine 1951
Colby,
My research indicates that the Illinois State Library has “Outdoors in Illinois” (published by the Illinois Department of Conservation) from 1949-1961 in its archives. I was unable to open an “Athens” account (yet) to access a copy so I submitted a form on line to the state librarian. I’ll let you know if I get a response. In the meantime, you might want to call or contact the state library directly.

Hope this helps.

Colby,
I received this prompt response from the Illinois State Library and copid you on the email for response:
The Illinois State Library does have a Summer, 1951, issue, but not a June one. It appears that the publication came out on just a quarterly basis in 1951. Would you be interested in viewing any articles, or the table of contents, from the Summer, 1951, issue?
Thank you.

After several follow ups, they sent Colby the entire article in a crisp scan. The Illinois State Library is the best.

Mike,
It is my experience that all Librarians have an extra gene for being helpful.
When Colby, Nello and I were researching the Langley book I spent many hours in the California Room at the CA State Library, and the Librarians would ALWAYS go the extra mile to find something I needed (like how to work the %&*&*^ microfiche machine).
