U.S. Fishing Tackle Trademark Database now on Orcaonline.org

Post by kyreels »

The entire U.S. Fishing Tackle Trademark Database is now online and fully searchable at orcaonline.org. Thanks to Alan Baracco & Colby Sorrells for compiling this resource and continuing to update it. Members have the additional advantage that they can view all 3400 original US Trademark documents for each TM. Additional documents are available for active TMs.

The public may use the public index to find and view all the trademark index fields, but cannot link to vie the documents.

Due to technical limitation of our software (which would have required additional cost to upgrade) I split the database into 3 parts:

Part 1 to view types Bucket, Clothing, Reel, Rod, Spear, and Tackle.
Part 2 to view types Bait, Flies, Float, Lure.
Part 3 to view types Gaff, Hook, Knife, Line, Net, Sinker Trap, and Wader.

I also updated the Fishing Reel Research public site to link to the new pages, as well as the Members Only Area.

This is a valuable research tool for both members and the public. Please provide any feedback or suggestions.

Full members of ORCA may access the trademark database from the Members Only Area of orcaonline.org. Members must login to orcaonline and select the Members Only Area from the menu (https://www.orcaonline.org/members-only/).

The public may access the trademark database from the Fishing Reel Research Homepage, sidebar Trademark menu (https://www.orcaonline.org/us-fishingta ... arks-menu/).

As mentioned, the members only interface allows the additional capability of viewing the original trademark documents online, which have pictures and text for the associated trademark indexes.

Works great and easy to get to. One more step to help the researchers. Well worth the price of membership by itself. Thanks for the effort Matt. All will benefit.

Keepin' It Fun!

The Trademark database has been combined into one list, due to the donation of software that overcomes the size limit. Thanks to our VP Doug Whittington.
