.
I first saw examples of these reels 42 years ago, at the first show I ever attended, The Northeast Antique Anglers Show. They were stunning ...they were available ...but my pockets were so shallow they barely held change.
I was 22 at the time, a senior in college and working 20 to 25 hour weeks to help pay my way. Pricey reels were not in the cards ...cheap reels were barely in the cards ...sometimes meals were not in the cards !
Well, times change, and thanks to a couple of pals (fellow ORCAns), I finally have examples of both reels.

Fantastic reels, well presented. Love the shot of the Meek showing the knurled, domed handle nut!

Congratulations Dean, the B.F. Meek & Sons first model 44 is spectacular. It's also on my short list of target reels. I frequently tell the tale of borrowing money to drive home from the Nationals back in the day.

WOW! The best of the best. Beautiful reels Dean. The Meek reel has been on my radar for some time, maybe some day.
