Anyone out there have any Bronson correspondence signed by, or referring to, Edward J. McMahon Jr., predating 1929. How about you Mark Williams you got your ears on? I am nearly positive he changed his name from Edward S. McMahon to Edward John McMahon Jr. sometime prior to 1930 just trying to narrow in on date. Per the probate court in Kalamazoo, name changes were not recorded in the state of Michigan prior to 1939.
Any help or comments appreciated .
Thanks
Bummy

Re: Bronson Reel Co. Information
Hi Mark. If I'm up to it, I'll go through the correspondence I currently have, which is not a lot before 1930, but I know I haven't read all of what I do have. Be patient. I'm moving slow these days.

You just take all the time you need, I have been working on this ( hit and miss ) for a year or so now. Did make it to Bronson area last week. The Branch County Heritage group is doing some work for me also as the County Clerks office there was reluctant to allow my wife and I to search records of marriages ???? Will be going back soon and plan to visit some with the Bronson Historical Society.
Thanks Mark

Seems to me that you might be the logical choice to take over the EDITOR position for the Bronson site. Pretty low-key job, but the pay is lousy. I have all the catalogs, inter-office memos and outside correspondence and all the catalogs from True Temper that contain Bronson models. Included is several binders of J.A. Coxe. Just enough to get you started. Lol.

YIKES! Don't know anything about being an editor. I am a low tech red neck, computer illiterate I tell ya . However, if a man of your knowledge was able and willing to take on an apprentice I would oblige such an arrangement. I am sure there are other Bronson collectors been around a lot longer than myself but if no one else steps up I would do so. This would require some conversation, you have my number, if not it is in the directory.
Thanks Mark

Nobody was more computer illiterate than me when I took over from Robert. Trust me. There's a world of help from this club that would help you, too. Think about it.
