Pflueger Rocket Reels

Post by rhowrigan »

I am seeing in the Pflueger Rocket Category designations after the model number… i.e. “S”, “L” & “F”…. I know that the “L” designation stands for Light Spool… but what does the S and F stand for?

I believe it was S for saltwater and F for freshwater.

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?

I like my Rocket too. Appears to be a better reel than the Coxe 65C I also have. My Rocket is in VGC and casts quite well. However the obligate click is unfortunate. Not sure I could stand to cast and retrieve with it for very long. I can retrieve it in direct drive (AR off) and engage the AR when a fish is on. But that could be a bit risky with a musky on!
