Browning Silaflex

I have a Browning Silaflex 8', two section spinning rod with what I suspect is a serial number engraved into the reel mount, 503637. The model # tag on the rod section is not legible, due to line wear I suppose. Was wondering if anyone could date this rod for me as I would like to use it at nationals. Checked our on line catalogs but no luck. Google search for serial number lookup was unsuccessful. Any help appreciated.
