For you ORCAns that can't make it this year, here's a photo array from our visit to the American Museum of Fly Fishing (with a great tour by former ORCA President and current AMFF curator Jim Schottenham), plus a lot of pics from tonight's Wine, Beer, Bourbon and Reels gathering. Lots of interesting reels and conversation and a lot more to come!
First up, Jim crediting John Elder with making an amazing version of Thomas Barker's 1657 reel design....
and here's John's reel, now in display at the museum.
ORCA members getting up close and personal with reels at the museum. Look but don't touch...
Roger Schulz with his Meisselbach Rainbow reels and boxes, which are now on exhibit at the museum, too.
This next one shows John Elder on the phone (probably taking an urgent call from someone who needs a screw made for an obscure EVH reel....) admiring a reel marked "California" that Bill Sonnett gave him as a gift.
