Bolton Landing Day 2 (additional photos)

Post by Richard Lodge »

Where to begin? We had the antique tackle fishing tournament today and a great morning on the waters of Lake George.
First, a shot of the classic Chris Craft letting off passengers who had enjoyed a trip around the lake in the vintage craft.

This afternoon? The casting contest was in full swing (snicker, snicker..). Then the show and sale room was opened for set up around 3 p.m. and the buying and horse (reel) trading was in full force.

Here are some random views from the day. More photos will be published (and ID'd) in the next issue of The Reel News.

This one needs an explanation. ORCA President Matt Wickham, left, and casting contest judge Dave Erickson, "argue" over the length of a foot, which was relevant when applying the high standards to accuracy casting.

The conversations were interesting and reels even more so once the show tables were set up.

Author, rodmaker and ORCA member Hoagy Carmichael Jr., with some of his reels for sale.

And finally, dinner on the deck at the Blue Water Manor tavern, with a great NY sunset.

Stay tuned. More to come on Wednesday.

Got a spare reel stamped "Pflueger" or a Montague Imperial?
