My name is Fred, and I am not a big reel collector like most of you on here.
Although I still have around 2000 reels that I have accumulated over the last 45 years, or so.
My main emphasis is being a reel mechanic, service, & restoration guy.
Got rid of most of my conventional reel parts a few years ago.
These days my little niche is specializing in quality vintage Spinning Reels — D.A.M. Quick, Penn, Mitchell, and ABU/Zebco Cardinal reels — of which I have perhaps 300,000 to 400,000 NOS parts for.
Not sure how much my knowledge might be of help to some members — but I expect to learn much from all of you.
I am also a Senior Moderator on the Alan Tani Reel Repair site with a little under 10,000 posts in 10 years. So while I am not a Pilgrim to online sites like this — ORCA is the only other site that I have decided to be involved with.
Thanks again, and I look forward to being a small part of your community.
I live at 4500’ in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California with my wife, Sue…a dog Chipper, 3 cats, and numerous outdoor family members such as herds of deer, some black bears, skunks, foxes, squirrels, raccoons, and more.
Best to All,
Fred

Welcome Fred! You live in a beautiful part of the country! If you haven't done so yet, you may want to check out the online library which contains a lot of spinning reel schematics.

Howdy Fred,
I recall you joined a long time ago and disappeared but welcome back.
