Pflueger Reel for Catfishing

Post by dhartman »

Greetings all,

I have been fishing with all Pflueger gear for the past 10 years now. love the brand.

I have been collecting their vintage reels for the past 3 or 4 now.

I am looking for a vintage round bait casting reel that I can go catfishing with. I have a Rocket, but that is a direct drive and does not cast very far.

I fish from ponds to the river, so I am looking for something with a free spool that can catch 5 lbs. to 30lbs.

I know that's a tall order, but is there anything in the vintage world of Pflueger that will fit that bill?

Thank you,

Could look into a Free Speed model 1914. Add a cub handle for drag maybe.
I would like any unusual pflueger casting reels!
