southbend 1201 shakespear on reel mount ?

I picked up a few old reels one has south bend model 1201, but has shakespear model 1924 on reel seat.
Did someone add a part or was this something that happened in the past.

Some one has replaced the original foot with a Shakespeare foot. Shakespeare actually made South Bend reels and you see similarities in many of the like model. To keep machining costs low, I could see how many parts would be interchangeable.
