Schatz reels

Post by RAM »

A friend sent me pics of a levelwind bait casting reel made in Chicago perhaps 1940s-1950s. Would appreciate any general information to forward to him. I never heard of this company. My friend’s friend’s grandfather was the company owner. Thanks and….

Cheers! Bad Bob

There have been other discussions about Schatz reels here on Reeltalk and a search will bring up much info.

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw one for sale from Henry Caldwell at the Pigeon Forge show.

Saw that these reels were manufactured in Detroit, not Chicago. Thanks for that post Steve. It was forwarded and appreciated.
