Interesting Boyer Mfg. Co. Made Winona Reel
The reel below is an interesting Indiana style reel. The reel is made of German silver, has a click and drag and can be used by either left or right handed casters. I am impressed by how well the reel is made. In reel collecting, you find out new things about reels all the time.

Ron,
What a great post! Really explains how to work one of these reels and why they were built. Lots of interesting information. This is the type of post that makes "Reel Talk" an indispensable part of old reel collecting. Thank you for posting.

There is a clue in that paperwork that the Heddon Winona celluloid float was actually made by Boyer Mfg Co of Winona Lake Ind. I don't think I have ever seen that documented. Someone I know may want to capture that.
