Newbie question

Post by firebird3 »

My grandfather, who passed in 1955, Minnesota cabin has been sold to family friends. I got the fishing rods and reels and one is a reel I have never seen before. Please check the photos and any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Trying again. If not working, it is a single handed baitcaster with Vacation on the side and 60 on the bottom of the seat.

Hello Firebird Newbie-
In order to post pictures you must do the image upload to the site server. Detailed instructions are provided under the Reel Talk > General tab.
It sounds like a cool old reel, and being grandpa’s makes it extra special for future generations of Firebirds.

It's a Montague Rod and Reel Company made 60
yd, multipling casting reel marked with one of Montagues many trade names. Nickle plated brass construction with a tail plate mounted click and drag. Made into the early '30s I think.

Klonder, that makes sense. I have his Montague fly rod bag and tube. Thanks for the help.
