HARDY REELS 1895 TO 1934 - BOOK

Post by Orton »

Hello, it was suggested that I introduce my latest book on here as it could be of interest to the members.

If you'll excuse the C&P from elsewhere - here it is

Hardy Reels 1895 to 1934

I've produced the above 200+ page book. It consists of high res scans of all the reel pages from these Hardy's Anglers' Guides - 1895, 1899, 1912, 1921, 1925, 1928 and 1934.

I'm happy to post worldwide, priced as below -

£30 + postage, as below -
  • UK – foc
    Europe + £8.00
    N American + £9.00
    Australia & NZ + £10
payment via Paypal to ortonpress@gmail.com

" ......What Hardys' did was expand on these offerings and send you a 200+ page dream by post. Exotic locations combined with the finest, most up to date fishing tackle became the stuff of fantasy. The catalogues had great images, long descriptions of the hows and whys of angling, and details of wonderful gadgets that no fisherman had even realised they needed.

Andrew Herd nailed it when he referred to the Hardy's Anglers' Guides as "The Anglers' Bible" in his 2015 book of that name.
Today the early Guides (or 'Hardy Brothers' World Renowned Angling Specialities' as they modestly entitled the early versions) achieve prices in the thousands, pounds or dollars..... and pre 1930 catalogues aren't too easy to find.

To allow modern collectors to dive into the dreams of their forefathers we've scanned the reel pages from the following catalogues - 1895, 1899, 1912, 1921, 1925, 1928 and 1934."

Thanks,
Brian
