I bought a bunch of vintage fishing stuff, including a couple of old reels. I would appreciate if you could ID the, tell me how old they are, how to use them (fidhing specs), how I can best care for them and what they could be worth. What I have is :
- Fly fishing reel #1
- Johnson Century 135 reel
- Prostaff reel
- Fly fishing reel #2
- Mitchell 300 reel with line assortments
Well, since each reel you have pictured is identifiable by emblem simple searches of each and a search of sold listings on eBay should give you all the information you are looking for. None have a realistic value of over $10 or $15, except maybe the Mitchell 300 @ possibly $20 to $25, IMO. It would be best to service them and use them as intended, go ahead and fish them.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels!(Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)
The fly reel is a Japanese made click-n-pawl reel that was, (I believe made by Daiwa or Olympic), that Heddon (under the name Daisy) offered in a green color. The Heddon version has a following and fetches a bit more money. If you advertise it as being same reel as Heddon Daisy that might interest some folks.
