Heddon “Chief Do-Wa-Giac Snarl-Free No.4”. (Gone)
This is one beautiful, top quality reel sold by Heddon! Name is stamped on back plate “Chief Do-Wa-Giac Snarl-Free No.4”. Also stamped there is “James Heddon’s Sons, Dowagiac Mich” at the bottom. This is not a common reel, especially in this fine condition. It’s the only one I found that has that black spacer! Made for Heddon by Shakespeare, circa 1935. You can see and feel Shakespeare's quality!
"Snarl-free", eh? Give me a couple casts with it- I bet I could put a snarl in the line!
Excellent condition! Spins fine, strong click both ways. A few light rubs on the spacer, but no cracks or chips. The finish seems unblemished. Judging by the spool, I might be inclined to think this reel never had line on it!

“Castomatic” Quaker City Gear Works (Phil, PA)
First one of these I’ve ever seen! Made by Quaker City Gear Works (Phil, PA) 1950-60. by their Outdoor Products Division (Outdoorsman) and marked as the “Castomatic”. I think I got that straight!
A finely made little baitcaster with just the features you need! LW, click, and adjustable spool tension end cap! Good looking little reel, too!
Stamped on end cap “Outdoorsman Castomatic” and on the foot as “Outdoor Products, Quaker City Gear Wrks, Phila, Penna, Patent Pending”.
Really nice condition, everything works fine! A little pitting on the bottom of the face plate, some faint marks from line being on it, but that’ s about it!
