Pictured is a 20" wild rainbow that was previously mutilated by someone who was fishing with a barbed hook, tore off half the fish's jaw in an attempt to remove the hook and then released it. If the fisher had been using a barbless hook, little if any damage to the fish would have occurred.
I released the fish, hopefully it will survive with half of its jaw missing.
