Hmmm… What would I want….. This one’s easy. A clean and fishable EVH Peerless trout reel. Might settle for an adjustable drag Walker TR3. Just to hold it for a while……
This is very easy, I want Jim Maddens book on South Bend Reels. I'd even sit on the old guy with the red suits lap for that one. Happy Holidays to all. Dan Uchytil
Dear Santa
I have went for going on three years now, sadly hoping for the day that my beloved Keates Kaster (Canadian- made in Timmins) was stolen. Of all my now long gone collection, this is the one reel I would welcome having again.
I try and behave and hope that someday you can render this dream possible. Failing that, please bring a criminal justice system that actually punishes druggys and thieves in Canada.
OK - If Steve is going to get the salmon reels - then maybe Santa will bring me some of these! These fly reels were made from nickle silver or aluminum in 60 - 80 - and 100 yard sizes. These 2 are nickle silver 80 and 100. So I could use a 60 nickle silver or some aluminum ones!
Dear Santa,
Changed what's left of my mind. Could I have one of these instead?
Jim, I believe you got your Clinton two years ago. Kids these days are just never satisfied.
I would like something that has not been found yet. Such as:
An aluminum Meek 44.
A Talbot Benhur with raised pillars.
A marbelized E. vom Hofe Peerless, in #5 size, please.
A Meek & Milam fly reel with numbered screws.
If I can't have any of those, I'll settle for a box of Funny Bones and a quart of milk.
Steve, I looked for that post, but couldn't find where you gave me:
The hatch I asked for: (and I got this Orrin version that I wanted to return..)
At least I got the Fowler I really wanted!
Jim, in case you're looking to complete your Fowler set, I have a couple available. Kinda partial to the second one, and Santa might be reluctant to give it up:
. . . OK, we don't celebrate Christmas at our house, but if we did I think I would ask for one of these!
You can never go wrong with a good hunting bird!
And inside was a note saying
"Merry X-Mas"
"Enjoy"
So I returned a Thank You note to the addressee and signed it,
"The Greatful Collector"
Now, whom ever he or she is, a public 'Thank You" for making my day!
Harvey
You are, in fact, a lucky (but deserving) collector. I'm a believer in what goes around comes around. And some stuff is finally coming around to you:-))
Now that Santa has taken care of Harvey---how about him coming up with that Superba for me. And if Santa can't come up with the reel, just send me a pic if you have one.
Harvey - I am happy for you that you got your wish. I am more happy for the kind person who sent it to you. That act says a lot for this thoughtful giver. Whom ever you are - my hat is off to you for your kindness and generousity - my kind of person!
