Pflueger 1774 issue

Post by Captain Fun »

Hi folks,
This may sound silly but I am looking for help in removing the spool from my old Pflueger. If the photo loads, you can see that even yankee ingenuity and Ace hardware couldn’t help.

Thank you Matt,
I saw that right away and tried my best to follow the instructions, twice, but no dice. I will try again. I’m not the most computer savvy guy but I’ve never had an issue posting on other sites.

Hi Matt,
Two more failed attempts just now. I see a message that the image is too large but no option for thumbnail, ugh! If it means anything I am working through my phone. Thank you.

If you are seeing the "image too large" message you need to compress or reduce your image size before trying to upload it.

Thank you Midway,
I presume that means use a thumbnail, I see no option for that.

No, it actually means you have to reduce the size of the photo/s you are planning to upload where they are stored before you try to upload them here.

Any photo editing software will likely reduce the size of your jpeg file below 4 MB. Just open the photo, crop and save.

Thanks guys, I’m not really sure what all that means, I’m not the most computer savvy guy. I’m working off my phone and I am kind of lost.

Every phone has a picture editor. On my iPhone, there is a photo library. Any photo I take on my phone goes into the library. I can edit the picture and crop it. If I go to add an image to this board, I can select the image from the library. When it is selected it will show the size of the file. Here is what my phone shows, yours might be slightly different. If it shows under 4 MB, you are fine. I just noticed it says on the screen it is limited to 3 MB, but I raised that to 4 MB a couple years ago and guess that I need to find where that text is and change to 4.

Thank you Matt,
I really appreciate the effort trying to post a silly photo. Turns out while I was messing with photos I ruined the reel trying to free it from the center post. Oh well. I actually bought another one on line in better shape for $20, I hope the spool spins, haha!
