Lots o' reels at this show

Post by Richard Lodge »

I had a chance to sign and sell copies of my biography of Rube Cross at The Fly Fishing Show in Marlborough, Mass., today. It's a huge show with dozens of fly tiers demonstrating their talents, lots of booths promoting fly fishing in Patagonia, Cape Cod, Mongolia, out west, etc. etc., plus a very large "book store" section with a rotating crew of authors signing books today and tomorrow. The Bear's Den Fly Fishing Co. in Taunton, Mass., had quite an array of slightly used, demo and "new old stock" fly reels for sale. Not a lot of old ones but I saw older Pflueger Medalists and a SalTrout in the mix. The show will travel to Atlanta; Edson, NJ; Bellevue, WA; Denver; Pleasanton, CA; and Lancaster, PA this year. (That's fellow author Phil Rowley on the left in the second photo).

Ah, the rich life of a fishing tackle author. Fun stuff no doubt.
