ORCA Christmas Presents

Post by Roger Schulz »

ORCA Members:

Don't forget that the ORCA Store has some great Christmas presents for fellow reel collectors. Go to our website and see the selections of various shirts, mugs, etc.

I can still get the stuff to you by Christmas.

Roger,
When are you going to stock a crying towell & drool bib? The crying towell could be like those you can order when you buy Trilene line, with a metal shower hook in one corner through a gromet. The drool bib could be a converted lobster bid. Both with the ORCA design of course! I can think of a lot of uses for them, especially at the national or any show as far as that goes.
Heck, I could use the crying towell whenever I'm around Harvey.

Actually, Don & Roger, I would buy a few and I think towels would be a nice addition. I always tuck a hand towel into the front of my shorts when fishing, kinda like a quarterback. Helps keep my hands clean for a sure grip when casting those surf rods. My fishing club had a few longer hand towels embroidered with our logo a while back. I would be proud to have an official ORCA towel. It might be a bit much for my family to have to use bath towels, though

You guys are always thinking of new ideas. I will check into some type of towel. A lot of sports (tennis, bowling, etc.) have towels that you clip on your belt. Any other ideas for new items?

Thought of one more use for an ORCA towel while chatting with our star reel restoration expert, L. Maybe a bunch could be made up for National Convention give-aways like the mugs were these past couple of years. Your new treasures can get wrapped up in an official ORCA towel for the long ride home. And I'm sure the hotel would appreciate it too! Heck, market them as packing material, tournament casting accessories, self defense weapon, etc. and you'll sell a bunch.

Here is a towel that was given to the attendees to the FATC Daytona show a few years ago.

And sorry Don, It is coated with Scotch Guard so tears won't soak in!

I will ask Jim Schuttenham to take a look at your idea for the convention in May.

I'm on it. I'll put just about anything on that towel, except the picture Harvey took of me at last years breakfast. Don't want people getting ill! Maybe the great reel cleaning shot from Miss El's seminar last year, or Phil's innovative (and winning) Reel Toss from Fife. Let me know what you'd like to see on that towel. My e-mail address is .

I WOULD VOTE TWICE FOR THE PICTURE BUT!
How about just the ORCA logo and maybe "Lake George Convention, 2006"

How about a hybrid Old reel on the towel, like a combination of a Koph and a Birdcage -- just a thought.

Dale.

Great idea - we could call it a kopfcage. Or maybe a birdkopf.
