Cabela's is coming to town...

Post by Reel Geezer »

The lead headline in the paper a few days ago was that Cabela's is opening a store in Boise, Idaho. It's about time - that driving to Nebraska to shop the bargain cave made for a long haul. They expect to have their store open by summer 2006, as they are converting an old Cosco store into a full fledged typical Cabela's indoor museum/shopping center/aquarium/etc.

New Cabelas

That's good news for you and the Rubber Reel Lady, Phil, but maybe not so good for the pocketbook!

And here's hoping Boise St. can pull off a win tonight which will keep me alive in my BCS pool...

:D 8) :!:  cool-thumb jump jump yay-banana USA OK Phil, and they need a special room called the PHIL WHITE ROOM!and the Chamber of Comerace can be grateful that you are drawing business to their city? traffic jams, more business taxes etc! Now all Cabelas needs to do is, 1 name a reel the PHIL WHITE REEL! 2 The Phil White Lure, 3 The Phil White signature ROD! and of corse the PHIL WHITE DAY! The New Lure could be called the PHIL WHITES DILLY! Posibly a new line of Fishing Jackets, Sun glasses and other items! Give a Endorsement to the oil companies, as you will cause more gasoline to be used, Remeber the (Herbs DILLY)? now for a PHILLs DILLY! Life is GOOD! Maybe the State will name a road after you, or your own lane to and from Cabelas ! GO FOR IT! Your Ohio Conection on Lake ERIE Col. Milton Lorens aka SWIM JIG

Wow Milt. All I want them to do is tell everyone to go fish somewhere other than Lake Lowell.

I also would like Robyn to stay alive in his BCS poll. We'll know if you're still alive in a few hours, Robyn. The weather is not very nice with strong winds from the east and overcast, with possible rain showers. Lots of snow falling in the mountains the past two days, but it's rained here in the valley.

Sorry about that Robyn. We should have won that game.

The only thing that really griped me about that game was that BSU's offensive guard, D. Colledge, who is predicted to be one of the top 10 offensive linemen in the NFL draft, outplayed BC's All American Defensive Lineman, but got few accolades. No one mentioned that he won that battle.

I guess that's enough football. Are we ready for some FISHING! yay-banana

There's one 40 miles from my house, and I haven't been there yet. I know I should visit, but I have just lost all interest in contemporary tackle. About the only thing I've still got a bug for is an Austin Forbes Aerial (while they're still available) and I'm about to kill that bug. I've even got my girls fishing vintage tackle. (Last time out with my Dad, I fished a 4 Bros. Regal on a SB doublebilt.)

hey, I think I'm the guy that shut down Cabelas.

At least their on-line order.
I posted this link on Joe's board:

It's for the Commemorative Tin Liz replica - $5, what a steal.
But Cabela's website went down this evening.

Ron, probably me. I bought 10 lures the other day, when I got them today and saw how nice they really were I ordered 90 more. You just can't beat that package for $4.99.

Have they been bought out!

Post by SWIM JIG »

:? 8)  :!: cool-thumb yay-banana jump USA, after the trip to DUNDEE 2 weeks ago and not 75 folks in the store including the help at 9:30 am , I also heard rumors WAL MART is buying them out!? Next thing they will have is S&H Green stamps ? Seems as if they are opening stores everwhere in the country! They have the Product , just that the price is very close to full retail! On the nice side the (Gun Liabray is very nice in all the ones I have been in. As for their scratch ,dent and close out items? well its full retail that Gander MNT. sells the same products for! Have to admit, the temp. is nice! warm in the winter, nice airconditioning in the summer! Their Grub is way overpriced ! However again the selections are good!
