Need Help In Identifying this DAM Fly Reel.

Post by svangsta »

Please be patient with a newcomer.

I wrote earlier asking help to identify a DAM fly reel, but didn't know how to attach the photo.

I hope I am doing it right now.

In my previous message I asked if any of you could please tell me what model this DAM fly reel is. It has a thick aluminum plate and aluminum handle knobs.

My email:

Kind regards
Andrew

Andrew, sorry can't help you on the reel but I did edit your image link so that it appeared in your message. You just included a couple of spaces within the code brackets so that's why it didn't load up properly.

Thank you Brian. I should mention that it was you who inspired me to place a photo along with my request. Your photo is fantastic and thanks for your giving us hints on how to post a pic. Happy New Year. Andrew

Identify DAM reel

Post by svangsta »

Thanks Milton for your offer of help. Unfortunately all I have is this photo to go by. I don't have the reel. So I do not have the model number. I really hope you can help me identify it. What attracted me to this reel is the thickness of the aluminum plate as you can see in the picture. I have a feeling it is well-made. Hope to hear from you Milton or anyone out there. Regards, Andrew

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE ?!?!?
THAT'S the reel I had won the auction on Ebay.
Paid it, got lost in the mail according to the seller !
The picture is 100% identical reel AND background !

You wanne check ? PLEASE DO !
Auction number 7193652573
My Ebay-name is snoekjaeger
I bought it from a guy on Ebay named Mitchellfreak.
I had send him 3 mails without response.
Only got a response after I gave him a negative feedback...

I know it was a small amount lost, but fair is fair !

HAS HE BEEN SELLING IT TWICE OR WHAT ?

If I remember right. He wants just to know the model number. So he can find one for his collection. He just used the picture so somebody could tell him the model number.

I have no problem with "svangsta", just hope he can let me know where he got the picture.
I hope it's not from another (later) auction.

A couple of weeks after my payment I mailed the seller 3 times, he never answered.
Next I gave him a negative feedback.
In his reply to this feedback he said never having received my mails (...)
I mailed him to kindly explain what was going on ?
Then he replied he had changed his email address, that's why he never received my mails (...)
Anyway, this seller was not telling the truth in anyway...
I know things can get lost, I have no problem with that, I took the risk and the money lost was not a big deal.
BUT what really bothered me was seller not answering my questions, and next not telling the truth in his feedback reply. I still have copies of all my mails (and headers !) to him...

I can tell you it really surprised me to see this pic a few months after the auction ended.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if he just kept the reel because it did not get him enough money... If he had been telling the truth I would never make this assumption. But if the picture is from a later dated auction...
If not, my sincere apologies...

Jean-Paul
