Pfleuger 512 HydroThumb Control

Obtained a 512 and proceeded to clean and oil. The Hydro control was immovable but a wrench loosened nut on inside and I cleaned everything and made nut slightly more than hand tight. The outside black control moves with some resistance now but it will go in full revolutions and there is no difference to the drag. I need some advice. Thanks in advance, Charlie
