Shakespeare Superior ?
Hi Guys! Question for you Shakespeare collectors. Was there ever a Superior model made of solid brass? Saw 1 on Ebay recently with some nice etching on it ,and it sold for $40. Does this reel exist, or is it rare(never seen 1 before) or is this a fake? Thank's! Canadian

Tony,
Never seen one that I could say came from the factory that way. I do have three reels, a Leader, a Criterion and a True blue that are brass but all three show sign if plating. Someone has buffed the plating off. Is a true brass reel exist, it could be something someone put together inside the factory before the parts were plated. That would be a chance but I don't believe the factory ever sold a unplated reel.
