America # 2 reel patd 1902

Post by Guest »

Hello all, I found this reel and I knew it was neat but I do not have reference or value on it. I would like to sell or trade it for something I like. It is a ball bearing quick take down reel nickel over brass. Thanks Paul N

Paul:

John is quite correct. We need to see some pictures and also would be helpful if you provide a complete description of ALL inscriptions on the reel. I'm not particularly interested in purchasing the reel, but will gladly provide information if I can.

My No.1 is about 3/16" narrower than No.2, that is only diff., helical on
both. Crank retaining nuts also diff.

Paul just sent me these pics of his reel..turns out is a #1, which Lawson lists a couple examples ranging from $225-275, so someone else must like it as much as I do! Doesn't it look a bit "Heddonish" to anyone else?
