Smokes... Man, that is fine. Love that drag mechanism... I'm a big fan of the technical development of offshore reels. Who is the craftsman behind that, and is there a model designation or patent number or something? Talking about the une on top there, although the one below be fine as well.

Doc,
That is a 'Miller Autocrat" sold by Shakespeare from around 1934 till 1940 or so. The drag gizmo is a micro adjustment that was an add on offered with the reel. I don't have a patent number but will send you a copy of the box paper and the catalogue ads if you e-mail me your address. That way you can set in your easy chair and drool and not mess up your keyboard.
