SC made reels
Hello, just wondering if any reels were made in SC. I am writing a book on SC tackle, vintage and present for my grandaughter. She collects SC tackle. Any info and pictures would be greatly appreciated. Any info on lures would also be appreciated. Thanks, Robert[/url]

doesn't look like they're on the list yet - look hard, maybe you'll find one to put there.

Great subject and a wonderful present for your granddaughter. I think I have some SC stuff in my files, if you PM your email address I can see what I can find and send it your way.
Sincerely,
Dr. Todd

I am just going to toss some ideas out there as I grew up in SC.
Shakespeare was headquartered in Columbia, SC, for a time. Not sure what reels might have been designed there.
I have seen some reels with an Orangeburg, SC, company name on them. I think those were probably made in Asia, and just had the tackle company name on them. I am trying to remember the name, it was something like Williamston, the ones I saw were very inexpensive plastic reels, for cane pole or crappie fishing. I have seen some cricket cages, plastic sinker boxes, and furnished lines with the name on them. Will look and see if I can dig out the exact name.
Charlie Fox, Catawba Tackle, in Rock Hill had some reels he had machined for him by a mechanic in a boat shop that was located downstairs. Not sure how many, if any, are out there.
I know of more NC Reels than I do SC.
