this is a later version, by virtue of being a Garcia Mitchell as opposed to Mitchell, presence of a closed bail, and type of crank and shape of anti-reverse knob. Ben's book has the dates, but I'm at work...if no one fills in the blanks, I'll get back this evening.

If the handle is original to the reel it would fall between 1962-1972. 1962 about the time Mitchell switched to a threaded fold away handle from the spring loaded. 1972 when the boomarang anti-reversed was replaced by the straight one. Hope this helps.
