Need help with ID and Value. I own Lawsons book, but cannot find it. Help with value please. Clicker is strong. Overall in Very good condition.

Neat. I like that.

Um, page 95 of what? You guys and I are sometimes just not on the same page...

I like the knurled thumbwheel, but not quite sure what it does...

Rob...they are refering to the "Bible"...Stu lawson's price guide, chapter 2001, verse 95, lines 7-11...the Liberty Bell Reel...what that scripture reveals is that in the past, the reel has been offered or sold for prices ranging from appr. $300-500...i.e., He Didst Good with this reel find!

If one could find enough info, this would certainly make a wonderful Reel News article...so Geez, what three issues were they in? :D

Edward Rockwell patented all the doodads in the Liberty Bell reels from 1902-1905. luredin's reel has Rockwell's 1905 drag. The crank is a lever that presses on the drag disc, the large disc at the center of the reel. The knurled wheel below the crank knob adjusts the amount of tilt the crank can undergo when it's pressed toward the reel. The patent is described on pg. 65 of Antique Fishing Reels.
