I picked up this Granger fly rod today, but can't find this model listed in Lawson or White and not sure where else to look. It says "Granger" and "Super Bilt" in script near the butt, along with "1939" (quotes are all mine). The reel seat has "6-24-39" on it and that date is also lightly scratched in the end of the butt plate. It's an 8 ft rod...bad news is that there is only one tip section, but the rod is in pretty nice shape. Are these markings typical for Granger rods and does anyone know about this model? thanks in advance for whatever info you can give!
thanks, Todd...I'll try to fight my way onto that board..I just figured that some of the fly guyz over here might have a book or knowledge of this model.

2)The Granger writing is completely bogus. Intentional? Who knows?
3)Super Bilt was a series for the above-mentioned catalog store.
4)The date on the reel seat wasn't put there by the factory.
4)If it's an 8' rod that hasn't been 'shortened' it's a somewhat scarce rod for a South Bend, in which case I might be interested in purchasing it.
and I'd like to talk about buy or trade as well, John. I love SB, and have been looking for an 8'er.
