ORCA National Want List

Post by Jim Schottenham »

So, lets get that wish list together for the nationals. For starters, I know of a few reels that some members would love to see for sale or trade:
A Pflueger Faultless for Brian
A Crook reel for Laurie
A Shakespeare Hoosier in a Box for Harvey
An Irish made reel for Lorraine
Some previously unknown patented reel for Steve
A tournament reel for Tom and one for Andy
A boxed Horton for Bill
A rare spinning reel for Ben
An Acme reel for Richard
A Ball on Ball reel for Phil
A tough Hendryx for Ed
A Kopf reel for Henry
And, the one I'd like to see the most, a 40 yard Shakespeare Perfect for Jack!

I know there are more, so lets see those want lists!

Please add a 12th-century Chinese "Indiana" reel for Jim.

Now that`s really nice AND what do you want ? Or are you at that
saturation point ? I don`t think that`s possible, there`s always 'one more'

Thanks for the wish list, Jim. I could also use skeleton fly reels with maker's names on the back, preferably in the box. Although it's not reel related (so flail me at the convention, eh? ), I'm always adding to my collection of old newsboy badges, permits, licenses and pinbacks.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Lake George.

In the words of Homer Simpson, "DOH!"
Good catch Harvey. And while I'm posting, how about adding:
A 45, 55, 100, 810 or 910 "A" reel for Jim M
A reel can for Merv
An unmarked Indiana reel for our friend Larry Moellman (wish you could be here buddy!)
A rare Mitchell item for Kim
A Heddon 3-24 for Dwight
A rare Meisselbach reel for John G
A tough Shakespeare reel for Joe K
A Malleson for Dave
A rare Pflueger for Roger
And I know there's more wants out there...let's see 'em!

I'm starting to run a bit low on 1/4 oz Hawaiian Wiggler #2s and 1/4 oz Herb's Dillys, so if you have any of them lying around in your junk boxes, bring them along. I want fishing condition lures (skirts or hair missing is fine).

Jim, That is a great start. I have the Hoosier for Harvey if someone has a box.

Jay is pretty much computer illeteriate, but I know he would love a Horton 10 or 30 with an Aluminum spool or all aluminum. (Bill Muth hordes these)
Speaking of aluminum spools, I need an early Marhoff with same; I seemed to have come up with the Aluminum Spool box.

I've also got a reel tin for Merv.

Wonder if anyone wants a Blue Flash spinning reel in box? It's baby blue.

We're getting close.
