Pflueger 2600 Info? OldFishingstuff.com? Where has it gone?

Post by fishermensource »

I have a Pflueger 2600, but know very little about the reel and why it is valuable. There is very little info on the web about the reel, so I was hoping there is someone out there with the details and history of the reel.

Also does anyone know what happened to the website Oldfishingstuff.com?

I can't answer your first question, but will answer the second. My web site was highjacked by some Lithuanian jerks. I am having a hard time getting my server to understand my desires in order to restore the site. I hope to have it back up and running soon. Sorry for the inconvenience. However, at this time of year fishing comes first, and attending to other chores takes second place.

Pflueger 2600

The 2800 (standard width spool) was introduced in 1977. The 2600 (narrow spool) appeared in 1979. These were the "prototype" for the new Supreme Hi Speed which was introduced in 1981 with only 90 produced. These (2600, 2800) reels are highly sought after by Japanese collectoers who (I have been advised) use them as tournament reels and consider them as a "status" reel. They were no longer made in 1982, hence their scarcity. Hope this helps. Bad (Pfacts are better than Pfancy, but not as much fun) Bob
